Today was a very mild, very pretty spring like day. So I took the opportunity to do a trail run. I easily accomplished the distance of 6.4 miles. The spasm like discomfort I'd been having in my lower back was alleviated by a massage with my thumbs to the area while jogging along. It was as if the movement of my muscles as I ran did the work. The other accomplishment today was to limit my calories. That is something that I've been off the chain with for some time. My weight has blown up to where my last clothes are tight. Instead of going down to the 34 waist pants, I've gone the other way. Time to remedy that. I am considering entering the Cheaha 50k run but I don't see the point of entering so I can run to the half way mark at Adam's Gap. I don't see that worth the $55 entry fee. All I'd get out of it would be a t-shirt. I'd also hate to prevent someone from running who would otherwise finish. The race is limited to 160 runners. Last year there were over 180 listed. I've also looked at some training programs for suggestions as to weekly mileage as I ramp up to prepare for the Marine Corps Marathon in October. I'd need to get very accomplished by the March registration date so as to know whether or not I'd be wasting my time and money to go.
Effigies are used in grieving by providing a tangible representation of what has been lost, allowing a mourner to connect with who or what they've lost , which can help with the process of acceptance and emotional expression, particularly when the loss is sudden or traumatic; they can be used to focus grief and memories around a physical likeness, offering a sense of continued presence even in their absence
