On the hike yesterday morning, almost as I stepped onto the trail, I tore a muscle in my right calf. Very painful but I hobbled along for the 4 mile walk then spent a very sore evening at work. This morning the pain is better and the swelling appears to have gone down. I'm guessing it will take a good portion of next week to get better. I didn't cut calories today. I'm adding back some to power the healing process. Back to starvation tomorrow. If I'm able to hike or ride, I will burn some calories that way. If I can't then perhaps it's a good thing. I can just do all those chores I have left and perhaps get some yard work done. With a few bike rides or kayak paddles along the way.
Effigies are used in grieving by providing a tangible representation of what has been lost, allowing a mourner to connect with who or what they've lost , which can help with the process of acceptance and emotional expression, particularly when the loss is sudden or traumatic; they can be used to focus grief and memories around a physical likeness, offering a sense of continued presence even in their absence
