Running in the rain...

After having postponed my long run for the week 2 days, I went ahead and did it today. The weather radar showed a large body of precipitation over Birmingham but I took the chance and went anyway. The first 5 miles were simply a sprinkle of rain. Then during the last 2 mile stretch, the bottom fell out and I got soaked. It may be good practice anyway. If I am doing some half-marathons this year, I expect some of those might be on rainy days. I suppose I am on track to do a marathon before next fall. I don't want to go to DC to do the MCM without having run that distance once.

Running inside...

Thank goodness for the treadmill, days here have been wet and increasingly colder. This morning a front moved through the state bringing a little wintry mix to parts of the state. Now the cold has moved in and we will get lows in the 20's tonight. Just like with last year, getting out for long runs with be challenging. Having that day Monday with 70's sure spoiled me. Instead of going down to the 34 waist pants, I've gone the other way. Time to remedy that. I am considering entering the Cheaha 50k run but I don't see the point of entering so I can run to the half way mark at Adam's Gap. I don't see that worth the $55 entry fee. All I'd get out of it would be a t-shirt. I'd also hate to prevent someone from running who would otherwise finish. The race is limited to 160 runners. Last year there were ove
